SK telecom provides a ‘social safety network’ that is necessary for times of non-contact, in a super-aging society. Based on ICT technologies such as artificial intelligence, we spread out and advance ‘AI care’ services that help single senior citizens through relieving loneliness, offering emergency relief and the prevention of dementia, along with local governments and social ventures.

Regional renewal project through the fostering of social innovators

We are supporting a sustainable regional renewal ecosystem through ‘Local:Rise Gunsan’, a regional renewal project intended to revitalize the region via start-ups, and by seeking solutions to social issues in the region together with a variety of social innovators.

Fostering Future Talent ‘Hynstein’, ICT-based Silver Care Business

SK hynix has a social contribution mission of being ‘a company that makes happy memories with local communities via sharing’. As a leading memory technology company, SK hynix developed and has provided ‘Happy GPS – Wandering sensor to prevent disappearances’ for 13,000 people through to 2019. Also, to contribute to social issues, from the rapid increase of single senior citizens, we are building an ICT-based silver care system, named ‘Silver Friend’. In addition, we are operating ‘Happy Dreaming’, a career-mentoring program, ‘Hynstein’, a program for fostering future talent in science as well as ‘Happy Sharing Fund’, funded by our members’ voluntary donations and the company’s matching grants.

Career support program for children/youth in low income families and social service activities of members

We provide economic and emotional sponsorships for children and youth in low income families in local areas while supporting career programs customized for age. We also make efforts to create social value via various activities of co-existence, operating eco-friendly education and linking with social enterprises.

Contribution to improving the quality of lives for disadvantaged families utilizing our business capabilities

We lead the culture of donating used mobile phones via Mintit ATM and support children of ICT-disadvantaged families via collaborations with NGOs. Also, through talent donations to Speedmate, we support disadvantaged families to help them safely use automobiles.

Establishing a coexistence ecosystem of the material industry, ‘New materials technology-based open platform’

SKC discovers prospective startups and ventures in the materials area. We also share material R&D and assets, both tangible and intangible, expertise from various organizations’ such as start-up incubating, investment, and legal and accounting expertise. We share this expertise through an open platform based on new material technologies and contribute to establishing a healthy coexistence ecosystem.

‘Hope Maker’ Sponsoring Child/Adolescent Connections and Residential Environment Improvement Project

We are promoting the ‘Hope Maker’ project, where all members form a connection with children/adolescents of the low income class and provide economic and emotional support, and are also engaged in a residential environment improvement project which improvises residential environment and welfare facilities for the low income class through the talent donation of members.

We are promoting the ‘Hope Maker’ project, where all members form a connection with the children/adolescents of the low income class and provide economic and emotional support as well as the ‘Happy Green School’ project, where members become day teachers to provide elementary school students with eco-friendly education.

Blossom Adolescent Film Festival

Beginning in 2018, the ‘Blossom Youth Video Competition’ is a project designed to help adolescents talk about their issues in a video clip and present solutions on a media platform. In 2020, the competition highlighted the issues of school violence, respect for life, and happiness at school. We are supporting the production and promotion of video works with a variety of specialized institutions, especially EBS, Yonsei University, the Ministry of Education, the Korean Lawyers Association, and the Korea Youth Work Agency.

Cooperation and coexistence with SMEs through the establishment of a Win-Win Conference and Integrated Analysis Center

We established a Win-Win Conference, with the participation of our officials and employees and personnel from our contractors to support contractors to improve their work environments and conduct safety education to sharpen a sustainable competitive edge. Also, by operating the Integrated Analysis Center, we provide material analysis consulting for SMEs suffering from difficulties in product development and commercialization. By sharing the analysis equipment and infrastructure, we are actively performing cooperation for coexistence to create a healthy industrial ecosystem.
